June 2003 CBI Newsletter
Hope everyone's summer if off to a great start and you have enough staff to accomplish your goals...
-As I'm sure you've heard, CBI received fabulous news about the
webcasting agreement in the past week. Specific details and answers to
FAQ are on the website (collegebroadcasters.org). Congrats again to
Will Robedee and Joel Willer for a job well done!
-We apologize for the tight deadline for the second annual CBI Student
Production Awards. With the number of packages streaming into the
office the past few days, most of you were able to make the June 2nd
postmark deadline. Judging will take place this summer with finalists
for each category announced by early fall. Best of luck to all who
entered.
-Time to start reserving hotel space and making travel arrangements for
our national convention in Dallas November 6-9, 2003 at the Hyatt
Regency. Around 50 broadcast specific sessions along with countless
others on leadership, management and more!
-Be on the lookout this fall if your station would like to participate
in our third annual cybercast on the exhibit floor at the fall
convention in Dallas. Dan Schumacher and his staff at KTSW at Southwest Texas State are coordinating this years effort and will be sending an e-mail out asking for DJ's.
-Members received a letter last month from Greg Newton of Ohio
University, our CBI Elections Coordinator. We have three CBI Board
seats open this fall--two two-year faculty/staff positions and one
one-year student position. We encourage all to get involved. Election
will take place via mail this fall.
-License Renewal Reminders:
All information about above is available in more detail on the website
(collegebroadcasters.org).
