Radio Ink - DJ's suspended for comments

Radio Ink - The Voice of Radio Revolution: "Two St. Louis deejays from KATZ, The Beat, have been suspended after making 'inappropriate' comments about police officers on the air Wednesday.

The pair discussed with callers how to injure officers and how to take away their radios so they couldn't call for help, according to some who heard the radio show. "

North County Times - KKSM Proposal

North County Times - North San Diego and Southwest Riverside County columnists: "LIVE LOVE ---- Former Palomar College student Donnie Stevenson ---- now a USD law school student ---- recently proposed live on-air to radio student Emily Irish on the college's radio station, KKSM, while at the San Diego County Fair. Irish said ''Yes,' and continues to work as an entertainment technician at Harrah's Casino."

Stevens Point Journal - Students past, present rally in support of campus station

Stevens Point Journal - Students past, present rally in support of campus station: "It's the 16-year-old's first job, and even though she doesn't get paid, the experience has been phenomenal, she said.
'I hadn't thought I would do anything like radio,' said Canales, who got involved with the station through her father, Jim, a community volunteer. 'I feel like I fit in even though I'm in high school.'
The elder and younger Canaleses were two of about 30 station supporters who showed up for a rally and press conference Friday on the 90FM steps. After it came to light earlier this week that UWSP is considering an affiliation with Wisconsin Public Radio - a decision many fear would severely curtail local programming - current and former station employees and volunteers organized the event to raise awareness about what they feel is at stake."

Radio X marks the spot for announcers at college station: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Radio X marks the spot for announcers at college station: South Florida Sun-Sentinel: "'Hands down, the experience has been the best thing for me. I am very caught up in the music. It's great to get people to listen to me,' said Garcia, of Pembroke Pines, who can be heard from 7 to 9 p.m.

Since its inception in 1998 and thanks to underwriting and a $100,000 budget from the Student Activities office, Radio X is the only college station in Broward County whose signal reaches beyond the campus. "

Stevens Point Journal - Campus radio programs at risk

Stevens Point Journal - Campus radio programs at risk: "'The range of ways you can be involved in 90FM is outrageous. I mean, you could do 50 hours of 90FM in a week or you could do three minutes. Either way, you come away with the same experience,' Henseler said. 'Any drop in (local) programming is a loss. Period.'"
