College of the Holy Cross | Public Affairs | WCHC, Student-Run Radio Station, Begins Live Web Streaming: "WORCESTER Mass. WCHC 88.1 FM, the student-run radio station at the College of the Holy Cross, has started live Web streaming of its broadcast content, 24 hours a day, seven days a week via its Web site: http://college.holycross.edu/wchc. Listeners are now able to tune into WCHC, including student-run music and talk radio shows and a number of Crusader Division I basketball and hockey games, outside the 15-mile radius broadcast coverage area."
Student-run radio station fighting for air - The Boston Globe: "''I'm very concerned. The FCC made a big mistake. I hope they fix it,' said Magno, faculty adviser to the station, from behind his desk recently as teenagers, teachers, and alumni rushed in and out of his room during a typical broadcast day."
MOTOR CITY JOURNAL: All everything (musical) and all of the time: "When a radio station offers two shows in one day featuring heavy metal music -- one on dark metal and the other on death metal -- you can be sure it is not your ordinary spot on the dial. And WHFR-FM (89.3) certainly is different."
The fund-raiser will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 and run through 11:54 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 19. The students of the Radio Broadcasting program at Lewis and Clark are currently out in the community raising money from local businesses for the 89.9-hour marathon. The money they raise will then be used to take a group of about 50 children from the Alton Boys and Girls' Club on a shopping trip prior to Christmas. Money raised will also be used to throw a Christmas party for the younger members of the club. "
